LONELY HEARTS
By Mel
The heat of the morning sun was rapidly burning away the early morning mist
and it permeated his chilled body as he poked idly at the dying embers of
the fire. Iolaus sighed and tossed the charred stick aside in frustration.
The sun's warmth could replace the coldness of the night but nothing could
banish the loneliness he felt or the ache in his heart. It had been two
long days and three empty nights since he and Hercules had parted. The blond
hunter had been so sure that his stubborn friend would come to his senses
and follow him. Had he been wrong? They had disagreed, exchanged heated
words and Hercules had even shoved him roughly away, bruising his ribs in
the process. They had argued before and sometimes it took a day or so for
them to calm down and see things clearly but they always sorted things out.
They had been together too long to let something so trivial come between
them. Or was it trivial? Iolaus closed his eyes and went over recent events
in his head for the hundredth time. Since he and the demigod had admitted
their feelings for each other and become lovers, Iolaus had experienced
an overwhelming need to rejoice in their discovery. Every moment they were
together was more special to him than he had ever dreamed possible and he
revelled in the new closeness they shared. He was certain that Hercules
felt the same until they had stopped at the village to help some local merchants
with a little bandit trouble.
On their first night in the village the local people had invited them to
eat at the tavern and during the course of the evening the demigod's behaviour
had puzzled the hunter. Whenever he moved close, the demigod would step
away, deliberately putting space between them. Hercules made a point of
sitting at the far end of the long table at dinner and he seemed to have
a brighter than usual smile for every pretty girl in the room. By the time
the two heroes retired to bed, Iolaus was furious. The demigod told him
that he was afraid the villagers might think them less than capable of dealing
with a group of dangerous bandits if they suspected that the two men were
lovers. Iolaus was incredulous and would have vigorously argued the point
except that Hercules had pulled him into a passionate embrace, kissed him
thoroughly and proceeded to make earth-shaking love to him. The hunter's
anger evaporated in the heat of their passion and in the morning they set
out to deal with the bandits.
The thieves were totally unprepared and succumbed easily to the superior
skill and experience of the two warriors. Several members of the gang were
captured, including their leader and the remainder of the band had fled.
The villagers expressed their gratitude to the two men by having a huge
feast in their honour, an event that would have delighted the hunter except
for his partner's behaviour. Iolaus restrained himself out of respect for
his hosts but when the festivities were drawing to a close he couldn't contain
his feelings any longer. They had defeated the bandits now, so the villagers
couldn't doubt their abilities even if they did suspect the true nature
of their relationship. He strode up to his partner and demanded an explanation
but Hercules, embarrassed by the attention his friend's angry tirade was
attracting became angry and refused to discuss it. When the big man turned
away from him Iolaus grabbed his arm in an effort to stop him from walking
away until things had been resolved and that was when Hercules had lashed
out, knocking the smaller man off his feet.
The demigod's anger had rapidly melted away when he saw his lover sprawled
on the floor among the splinters of a broken chair and he had instantly
regretted his hasty action. Hercules stepped forward to help his friend
up but the hunter slapped his hand away angrily. As he rose to his feet,
Iolaus kept his eyes lowered to hide his pain and he simply said that he
was going to head west as he walked out of the tavern into the night.
Now, more than two days later Iolaus was still waiting for his lover to
arrive and apologise. He couldn't believe that Hercules would leave him
because they had disagreed. He couldn't bear the thought of going on without
the demigod by his side. Maybe something had happened to his friend to prevent
him from following. Fear grabbed his heart and twisted it painfully. Either
way Iolaus had to know. He couldn't sit around and wait for much longer
without going crazy so he decided to wait until midday and then head back
to the village.
Perspiration beaded his forehead in the late morning heat and he turned
his attention to the tempting coolness of the nearby lake. He pulled himself
to his feet, wincing as his bruised ribs pained him and stripped off his
clothes.
From a short distance away a pair of deep blue eyes observed the naked warrior
as he waded into the lake. They watched as the cool water rose over strong
muscular thighs, enveloping the creamy white buttocks and covering the broad
sun tanned back. The golden head vanished from sight and then reappeared
in a shower of glittering droplets as the hunter flicked the wet hair from
his face with a toss of his head. When the dripping hunter emerged from
the lake the watcher discarded his own clothes and slipped into the water.
Iolaus flopped down on the grassy bank, and stretched his arms above his
head to try and ease the tension in his muscles. His torso rippled and glistened
in the sunlight and small drops of water trailed down his arms and over
his bare chest. He grimaced slightly as a stab of pain from his ribs reminded
him of his injury and he lowered his arms gingerly. Lying back on the grass
he tried to relax while the warm sun and gentle breeze dried the moisture
from his body but his mind wandered inexorably to thoughts of his absent
lover. He missed Hercules terribly. The sound of his voice, his smile, the
feel of his powerful arms around him but most of all he craved his lover's
touch. The feel of strong hands gliding over his body, caressing and stimulating
every nerve ending with practised skill and sensitivity. The hunter groaned
as his wayward thoughts caused a wave of desire to course through his body,
centring on his groin. His hand slid over his stomach and his fingers coiled
around his rapidly filling shaft. "Hercules," he moaned.
A splash from the lake bought him out of his dreamlike state with a start
and his eyes flew open. He sat up with his hand still grasping his swollen
member and gaped in utter amazement as the tall bronzed figure of his lover
emerged from the water. The demigod halted in front of the hunter, rivulets
of water coursed over his well-muscled body and soaked into the grass at
his feet. Hercules pointed at his partner's engorged cock, smiled slightly
and said, "Hold that thought."
Iolaus gazed up at his lover with undisguised pleasure. "Herc,"
he said in a voice that trembled with need.
The demigod lowered himself onto the grass and enfolded the hunter tenderly
in his arms. "I love you," he murmured huskily and hungrily plundered
his lover's mouth until both men were breathless.
When they finally broke apart, Iolaus emitted a small sob and buried his
head in the demigod's strong shoulder. "What took you so long, Herc?"
he asked, his voice muffled.
Hercules tenderly stroked his friend's golden hair and kissed the top of
his head. "I'm sorry, Iolaus," he said softly, "But I was
called away. There was a cave in at a mine and men were buried in the shaft.
I wanted to come and look for you first but there just wasn't time."
He sighed and pulled the hunter closer against him. "I missed you terribly
and I owe you an apology," he said.
Pulling away from the demigod slightly, Iolaus looked up at his friend and
smiled. "I'm just glad you're here, Herc. I missed you too." He
snuggled into the demigod's arms and waited for the big man to continue.
"I was wrong, Iolaus and I hurt you. I'm sorry." Hercules began.
"What made you change your mind?" the hunter interjected.
Hercules sighed. "It was the Magistrate's wife," he explained.
"I was pretty upset after you left and she came over to ask what was
wrong. I told her we had argued and she asked if it was a 'lover's tiff'.
I was shocked and she just laughed at me and said, "Don't look so surprised,
Hercules. I have never seen two people of any gender look at each other
with such love and affection. I hope you are going to go after him."
Everyone knew and I felt like such a fool. I was planning to leave at first
light but then the messenger from the mine arrived and you know the rest."
The hunter's fingers twisted playfully in the dark mat of hair over the
demigod's chest. "Well I hate to say 'I told you so'," he said
with a grin. "But I...." He never got to finish his sentence as
Hercules rolled him onto his back and claimed his mouth. Their tongues and
bodies entwined with a passion so intense that the hunter wondered if they
might set the grass alight. The smaller man's hands glided sensuously over
the rippling muscles of his lover's back and he revelled in the feel of
the smooth skin beneath his fingers.
The demigod's mouth moved over the hunter's face, planting feather light
kisses over his handsome features. Then his lips progressed lower, over
chin and chest until he encountered a nipple and paused to suckle on the
firm brown nub. Iolaus moaned, entwining his fingers in the demigod's hair
and Hercules moved over to give his lover's other nipple similar attention
with his lips and tongue. A firm nip of semi-divine teeth sent a bolt of
pure pleasure from chest to groin and Iolaus gasped in delight. The demigod
moved on and paused over the hunter's bruised ribs kissing the purpled flesh
and probing with gentle fingers to determine the extent of the injury. Iolaus
winced and bit his lip as his friend completed his brief examination. Relieved
that the bruising, although painful, was not serious the demigod pressed
his lips again against the injury and whispered, "I'm sorry, my love."
Iolaus reached down and ran his fingers lovingly through his partner's long
hair. "I know," he said softly.
Hercules moved onto his knees beside his lover and the hunter watched with
sex-fogged eyes, trembling as his friend ran his fingers through the drops
of moisture oozing from his swollen member. Iolaus moaned in frustration,
craving more of his lover's touch but Hercules just smiled and slipped his
moistened fingers between the hunter's legs, probing for the entrance nestling
between the firm buttocks. Iolaus parted his legs and lifted his hips slightly
to allow the demigod better access and then gasped in pleasure as a finger
slipped into his anus. While his delving digit moved inside his lover, the
demigod bowed his head and took the hunter's aching cock into his mouth.
Iolaus moaned and raised his hips as a hot tongue and firm lips moved sensuously
over his throbbing shaft. A second finger slipped into his anus and he writhed
against the demigod's hand gasping in ecstasy as a finger nudged against
his prostate, sending a shock wave of sensation through his body. The experienced
mouth moved rhythmically over his cock and he began to buck his hips as
he approached climax. Then his body tensed and trembled, his fists clenched
convulsively and he released his hot seed into his lover's mouth.
Hercules swallowed as the warm fluid filled his mouth and dribbled over
his chin and the moment his friend's body went limp he dipped his fingers
into the spilled seed and coated his own aching shaft. Then he withdrew
his fingers from the hunter's anus, leaned over and gently lifted him onto
his lap. When Hercules pushed his rigid member into his lover's tight arse,
Iolaus gasped and rested his head against the demigod's firm chest for a
moment until the sudden pain subsided. Then he leaned back in his lover's
arms, coiled his legs around his waist and used his strong thigh muscles
to pull himself further onto the demigod's pulsing shaft. Hercules moaned
and began to thrust his hips in a slow steady rhythm and Iolaus matched
his movements with his own body. The hunter leaned back further, trusting
his partner not to let him fall and the demigod increased the pace, driving
deeper.
Pausing for a moment, Hercules gently lowered
his lover onto the ground before withdrawing his pulsing shaft almost to
the tip and then thrusting back into the warm depths of the hunter's arse.
He repeated the long steady movements, sliding in and out harder and faster
until Iolaus was gasping and thrashing his head from side to side. Hercules
reached between them and grasped the hunter's renewed erection and began
to pump it purposefully. Their frenzied movements increased in tempo until
both men were grunting with effort and finally the demigod threw back his
head and yelled ecstatically as his semi-divine ejaculate spurted into the
hunter's arse.
Iolaus shuddered in the throes of his own
orgasm and streams of pearly essence pulsed from his shaft, splattering
over his abdomen. The demigod was breathing heavily when he withdrew from
his lover's clinging body and lay down beside him. Iolaus rolled into the
welcoming arms and pressed his cheek against his lover's chest. For several
minutes the two men lay together, their hearts still racing and enjoyed
the glorious afterglow of their passion.
Then Iolaus stretched languidly and yawned. "Oh gods, Herc, I'm tired,"
he complained.
Hercules looked a little concerned. "I don't usually wear you out this
quickly," he said, and pressed the back of his hand against his partner's
forehead. "You're not getting sick, are you?" he asked.
"No," Iolaus said and yawned again as he snuggled against the
demigod's body. "I just haven't been sleeping too well. I never sleep
so well without the feel of your arms around me," he said and sighed
contentedly.
Hercules smiled and kissed the top of his friend's golden head. "Sleep
well now, my love," he whispered and the hunter's breathing settled
almost immediately into the steady rhythm of sleep.
The two lovers lay entwined on the soft green grass, by the sparkling lake
and warmed by the late afternoon sun, they rested together in peaceful slumber.
